I Think
Is it the world that's unfair
Or is is me?
Blinded by stubborn virtue
Ready to break but not bend
Destined to be, alone
In the end.
Yet not letting go
Of the damn ego
For, I learnt the hard way
Not everyone's as they seem
Or act as they say.
I'm paranoid they say,
I believe I'm just cautious.
It's not worth getting heartbroken, when
I know that people change
Their minds, their thoughts
Their soul.
Once your world, now
There's a gaping hole
In your heart,
For you weren't cautious
From the start.
Promises that's broken without a second thought
Memories erased, feelings forgot
To suit our selfish end.
Nobody ready to break,
Always waiting for the
Other to bend
Cause that's how they roll
They proclaimed brightly.
The owner of glass houses with rocks in hands,
This wretched society.
I think it's me
The odd one out.
Not bending, not breaking
Not caring, not revealing.
Solitude lover, bitter and harsh
Company's something I can do without.
I don't care, never did
What the society said of me
For they weren't there when
I needed someone to be
A friend,
A soothing hand
That caresses my head
And said, "I love you as you are. And would till the end."
Yes, it's the world that's unfair
But I don't really care
I've made my own world.
I don't listen to anyone,
I obey only my soul
For it guides me to
The path that would
Help me piece up myself
To heal and be whole.
