I thought...

I thought I knew him I thought he was the missing piece of my life I thought he'd never smash my world to pieces I thought he'd always be there. I thought the years ahead would be filled with joy I thought he was proud of me I thought I was enough. I thought I gave him all the love I could I thought my picture on top of his piano was a reminder I thought the look in his eyes was one of troubled water behind him I thought I could save him I thought more of him I thought I knew him I never thought my grandfather would murder a woman and wrong all the right in the world.
