I thought it would work

Dear Brad,

You gave me your heart and I broke it

Not once, but twice indeed

We settled things and made it work

I gave you my heart in hopes to stay

A day after Christmas, how can you say,

"It's over"

My heart was shattered

Not new to you, but somewhat to me

You kept saying "I love you"

But for selfish reasons you left

You want still to be my friend

Ignoring me isn't the way

If only you truly knew the way I feel

It really wouldn't matter because...

The love was clearly not real
