I Thought a Thought
I thought a thought. I heard a thunk
A thunk that's loud and sweet.
A type of thunk that happens once
and never will repeat.
The kind of thunk from far away
that travels here then there
and for a moment rests a while
then leaves this whole affair.
And with that thunk a thought dislodged
and made its way to me,
on to this tree and through this pen . . .
Wait. What was the thought again?
