I Thought You Were Back

I saw your eyes today.

The eyes that I had been able to stare into for hours,

And never get lost.

The eyes that are so green,

They make you lose all envy.

The eyes that always crinkle at the corners,

And sparkle in the sun.

But then you blinked.

And instead I saw the same eyes that had looked in mine

And said, “I don’t love you anymore”.
