I, Too, Sing America

I, Too, Sing America

I, too, sing America

I am the faithful sister.

They tell me to move on

When the hardships come,

But I laugh,

And smile

And grow strong.

Tomorrow,

I’ll stay

When the hardships come.

Nobody’ll dare

Say to me,

“Move on”

Then.

Besides,

They’ll see how beautiful I am

And be ashamed--

I, too, am America.
