i tried to be funny but nothing i do is funny

the other day i was trying to tell some kids a joke

because they looked sad

but when i went over to them they started screaming

and yelling and pointing

i thought at first that they were trying to make fun of me

so i laughed along awkwardly because that’s what

my mom told me to do when people make fun of me

but then they started crying and i was sad because my jokes

aren’t that bad

are they

yes i know i’m not supposed to be out of my cage

but it’s really restricting

i don’t like it

how am i supposed to grow and mature when you’re smothering me

the fucking cheetah has a bigger cage than me

how is that fair

i could eat cheetahs for breakfast if i wanted to

nobody understands what it is to be a lion

i don’t even understand what it means to be a lion

because lions don’t have the mental capability of

being introspective

or whatever

i don’t even know what introspection is

i just know i want it

q. what happened when the lion ate the comedian?

a. he felt funny
