I try

Even though you're the on that keeps reaching out, trying to grasp on to an almost vanished thread, trying hard for it not to snap and shed away into time

I'm the one that tries-

I'm the one that tries to keep the thread strong and elastic

The one that tries to solidify the thread

I'm the one that holds the bridge that you're crossing, the one that repairs the broken bridge, the one to fill the gaps of the broken bridge with her body- while you try and cross it

Even though it's what you want, I'm the one doing it

I do it for you- for you mean that much to me

However all you see is me trying to stand in your way, trying to stop you and trying to let you fall through the gaps

All you see is me being a hazard, a headache and a heartsore

While all I was trying to do was make your journey easier as I too wanted to hold onto the thread and cross the bridge

For I wanted to reach you as well

For I didn't want our connection to break or worse to end

But you never saw that and never came to understand

And so even though I didn't want to, I had to let go, I had to move forward and I had to let you walk your own path.

I then became a distant memory as I decided to step back - I became a distant memory for you let me walk out, pulling the thread with me- causing it to snap, breaking the bridge that linked us, severing all our memories- leaving me with all the memories, swimming in them, drowning in them.

You left me to shoulder it all, looking at me as if I am pathetic, whilst you move forward guilt free for you remember nothing

You moved forward, letting go of the thread, unwilling to cross the bridge

And so no one was left grasping for the thread and it snapped, severing all our ties, drying all our tears and leaving us void

Sewing unites. There's always a broken one for a deosite. It can be embroidered too.
