I TRY SO HARD

not to be sensitive, to act like things don't bother me, to pretend that words don't cut and actions don't hurt, but the truth is i feel everything deeply. i just keep quiet, because they won't understand what i feel, they didn't even care for what i feel. sometimes i wish i didn't notice every small detail, i tell myself not to care, not to overthink, but my heart won't listen. i notice every small change, the tone in someone's voice, the way they look me differently, and it gets to me. i end up wondering if i did something wrong. it's exhausting to feel so much, but at the same time, it's who i am. i try not to be sensitive, but sometimes the smallest things break me more than i want to admit.
