I Turn To You

We write what comes to mind,
We write to unleash a new adventure,
Or to unravel a beautiful disaster,
Words unsaid,
Words set on fire,
Words with no meaning,
Sometimes it's hard to bring ourselves together,
Standing in a cold world where no one listens,
That's why I turn to you.

Warriors, Misfits, Hardcore Rebels,
That's what we truly are deep down,
Hiding that inner being no one knows of,
But what's so wrong about being you?
The judgmental are weak,
That's why I turn to you.

We lie so low, raise so high,
We look for an aid,
A shoulder for tears to shed,
A warm embrace for security,
But being surrounded by the wrong arms only bring agony,
Get away, never come back,
That is what the voices tell you,
Does that honestly solve anything?
I wish I knew, but that's why I turn to you.

Don't you worry child,
Not everyone is out to tear you down.
However, when walls come crashing down,
Windows shatter through a dark room,
There will always be break-through,
Because stars like you and me can't shine without a little darkness
That's why I turn to you.
