I used to think poetry was corny
I used to think poetry was corny
Rhyming words, lame boys used to impress girls I suppose
I Only knew poetry from movies
Or my ninth grade teachers lessons on Shakespeare and prose
I thought it was somehow silly
to put words from my heart and then share them left exposed
I used to think poetry was corny
until I tried it and something in me blossomed arose
Now guess who is into poetry
no need for comfy couches and doctors with pads
i let it poor out like therapy
I feel it i write it I say it and that’s that’s
i found a voice that’s care free
you don’t like it who cares too bad
I used to think poetry was corny
But it saves when The world gets too sad
