I Used To Want To Save The World
I Used to want to Save the World
By Jada Benefield
I used to want to save the world
make the Earth revolve around my heart
love retaining it in motion
I wanted to steal all the sadness and
lock it away deep with within the broken hearts
and souls
All the cold hearts would be melted
By the warmth of my fingertips and glorified
By the dreams of the young dreamers
Every lone wolf would be accompanied by
vibrant glowing green tress that would give
powerful breezes full of comfort
and every lost soul would be guided by
a distant soft melody
But I can’t
No matter how hard I attempt to
Beyond all the darkness
I found hidden light stolen by hate and greed
One can’t generate such a great harmony by themselves
Only love can
The key to the mysterious chest that glimmers at night
Within the chest holds a splendid treasure
World peace
I used to want to save the world
