I walk along this road

I walk along this road called “Life”

Pausing, I glance just beyond my shoulder

Slowly, I turn around

The soft outline of my past undulates before me

Coming into sharper view as I blink away the tears

Flecks of gold are scattered among the potholes lining the street

Reminiscing my childhood, I turn my cheek

A new day has begun to break on the horizon

And with it, brings light to the untouched path before me
