i walk along a winding path

I walk along a winding path, Uncertain of what I seek.
No light in view just shadows,
Shadows surrounding me.
consuming me in its grasp, submerging me under its sea.
I fight, and I struggle.
Yet still I cannot breath.
My strength seems to drain, my hope and will is gone.
But something inside of me urges me to fight on.
So again I fight and I struggle, praying these chains will break.
Only to be confronted by another demons face.
It seems to me this battle will never truely end.
Is the the real meaning of living, to live a life condemned.
My only comfort now is the tears that cloud my eyes.
To me all that is real, is the pain I hold inside.
Unheard by the world, is my hearts tortured cries
silent to you all, but visible to the skies.
Which is were my higher power rests, watching from both above and below.
Waiting until the time is right to mend my broken soul.
So until then I walk along a winding path, still uncertain of what I seek.
But just maybe when I reach the end, my destination will be Me.
