As I walk through my classes, see boys looking at thin girl's asses.
shuffle straps on my bookbag, full of homework to my bed I drag
cramping feet and not enough sleep how am I gonna pass these classes?
Tuition due, to adulting im new. scholarships slip like sand in an hourglass.
glasses fog, lungs feel like they are pierced by cold.
home, my quilt sewn with mother's needle. gentle blue of social media is dulling.
a single red letter whisks me away from anxiety. stay up late for conversing to those that wake early.
she understands, she knows me.
look to my shelf where the text sits, holy. the words are peace, each law damning.
pick up a needle, then a strand of any color and create warped beauty by hand.
click submit sit back and sigh.
eat and wash, then finally sovereign sleep.
shrill tunes across the room mean the sun will rise soon.
roll out bundle up clock in
a small blossom, quickly withered but still there.
