I Walked Away

I once had the chance to take a stand

To give the world my helping hand

Or make a difference in this land

But I walked away

When I was young I loved to dance

To put my soul into a trance

And then one day I got the chance

But I walked away

I used to search for what I believed

A brand new hope or happy dreams

Then I got my chance to breathe

But I walked away

What I needed most was someone to love

To free my heart like a morning dove

And then one day I met the one

But I walked away

Goodbye my friends it’s time to go

You asked me where, I do not know

I had no plans or maps to show

But I.....

I'm a Grad student now studying Biochemistry and Biophysics (not sure how I got there). I guess I've been using this site for nearly 8 years now though sometimes I went years without writing much of anything. I write what I feel and I write what I need to let go of. Sometimes I write about a dream or a nightmare I had, If I can tell the difference. I fell in love for poetry in high school and continued to write in college.
