I Wanna Live

(From the point of view of an unborn

child to his / her mother considering an abortion)

I wanna live, just give me a chance.

I wanna learn how to walk and dance.

As your child I promise to make you proud.

I’ll stand head and shoulders above the whole crowd.

I may even become a parent someday,

But I can’t if you take my life away.

God gave me to you as a gift from above.

He expects you to treat me with compassion and love.

Abortion hurts, it will torture and kill.

Think about it mom, is this God’s will?

We both play a part of a plot preplanned.

If you put me up for adoption, I’d understand.

At least you gave me a chance to survive.

Because of your self sacrifice, I’ll be able to thrive.

I wanna live, just give me a chance.

I wanna learn how to walk and dance.

As your child I promise to make you proud.

I’ll stand head and shoulders above the whole crowd.

I may even become a parent someday,

But I can’t if you take my life away.

I mother dear, am a child of the Lord.

A person connected to you through an umbilical cord.

I’d grow up and change each day on end,

With you by my side as my mom and my friend.

Dr. Seuss wrote a book called, Horton Hears a Who.

If an elephant can respect life, momma will you?

Abortion mother, isn’t the way to go.

A baby is a miracle from head to toe.

I wanna live, just give me a chance.

I wanna learn how to walk and dance.

As your child I promise to make you proud.

I’ll stand head and shoulders above the whole crowd.

I may even become a parent someday,

But I can’t if you take my life away.

You’d rock me to sleep and sing me a song,

And know I’ll be with you, your whole life long.

When I’m little I’d say, “I love you mom.”

And as a teenager I’d say, ”Yo you is da bomb.”

You never know what I could do.

The person inside you is small and brand new.

I could ride a whale, cure an illness, or fly into space.

Write a cool book, become president, win a race!

I wanna live, just give me a chance.

I wanna learn how to walk and dance.

As your child I promise to make you proud.

I’ll stand head and shoulders above the whole crowd.

I may even become a parent someday,

But I can’t if you take my life away.

I am your baby mom. What don’t you understand?

Don’t take my life from me, take my hand.

As a mother its your job to help me to grow.

To love and to lead me, to teach me what you know.

To guide me through this journey on Earth,

I’m telling ya mom, it all starts before birth.

So please mom, I beg you, just give me a shot,

You may be surprised, I can teach you a lot.
