I Want to be Art
I want to be art.
I want to be admired
I want to be labeled as a masterpiece,
Gazed upon in awe,
Examined with such focus and precision.
No longer cast to the side with disregard,
I will be a gallery of paintings, carvings, and broken molds.
I long to be the hints of vermilion within the sunset skies,
And the deep prussian blue that lies within the sea.
No, you can’t touch art.
But you may admire me from afar.
Let your eyes graze across my skin,
But not in a judgemental or disdainful manner.
Contemplate my edges and strokes of uneven paint,
Examine the texture of my finely defined curves,
All harmonizing in one unique scene
Of bright and brilliant colors.
I am a work of art.
Treat me as such.
