I Want To Be Me

I don’t wanna feel the way they make me feel

I don’t wanna live the way they taught me too

They can go, board up all my windows

But

They will never see where the sun shines from

I don wanna see the world the way they see it

I just wanna talk to the flower in the weeds

They can go and drink the poisoned water

But

They will never see how it kills the ones who watch

Freedom is so very fragile

So let me break anywhere but here

Even though darkness comes at night

If I follow the stars

They will lead me home to you.
