I want to braid your
I want to braid your hair.
Come sit, and let me rub your feet.
Rest your tired eyes on me,
lend me your ears,
and I'll try to sing some notes right.
I will stroke your hands,
and kiss your finger tips while I make you feel beautiful,
without ever saying the word.
Blow smoke in my face, I'll swim in it.
Drown me in your tears, I'll surface,
just to see your face again.
Can't you see?
I already love you.
*
You're adorable.
Why do you say that?
Because I adore you.
I think I've got it bad.
Then I've got it bad too.
I feel... vulnerable.
That's how you become close with people.
He kissed my lips,
and I whispered I love you,
over,
and over,
in my head.
*
He held the cold rag to my wound,
and wrapped his hand around my waist when my face flinched.
He stood firmly like an old oak tree,
and I fell into his smooth bark.
His whisper, like leaves rustling,
made me melt,
"I got you."
*
Because I love you,
I play with your hands and your hair,
the way a lover would.
Because I love you,
I give you space to grow,
the way a lover should.
Because I love you,
I've changed the center of my world,
to make sure you fit.
Because I love you,
the flame in heart remains lit.
Because I love you,
the truth only escapes from my lips.
For it's my love to you,
that I would easily send a thousand ships.
Because I love you,
You're not something I would ever try to own.
Because I love you,
I've made your house my home.
