I want my thoughts back

There I am.

Alone in the unknown.

As weird as it might sound,

I am happiest here.

There I am.

Alone with thoughts of my own.

As weird as it might sound,

I am sick of the noise.

Everywhere I go there it is,

The thoughts of another.

How do I, if I can,

Escape them?

Everywhere I go there they are,

The thoughts that fill my head.

How do I, if I can,

Get mine back?

Too often do I find

Another’s lies.

Too often do I find

Another’s wants. Desires.

Too often do I find

It difficult to hear what I have to say.

In the land of  solitude,

Where I find I am happiest,

Would want nothing more than

To be able to choose.

In the land of solitude,

Where I find I am happiest,

Would want nothing more than

To think and know that I

Will find me.

Who am I?

Only a reflection.
