I Want to Touch You / Abu Karim
I want to touch you with my finger tips.
My hands are very tender; there is no pin
with my finger tips that can pierce you;
don’t be afraid.
Yet you are gradually
getting backward leaping.
A steep ditch leads downward behind you.
You may fall downward seven thousand meter
below; with your flesh, bones, beauty, the puffed
flower of your hair, the tender skin
of your cheek, the little pyramids
of your bosom, and the pending sleep
of your eyes you may become fused
with air.
I want to have you between my aggressive arms;
with my eager lips I want to fasten your
lip-steak tinged lips. I can have you in my dreams;
in my wakefulness I dream you. When I touch a rose,
I feel that I touch you.
When I suck two ripe pods of an orange,
I feel that I am sucking the honey of your lips.
When I observe birds flying in air,
it seems you are playing somersault in air.
When I go on floating on the rafts of gray clouds
in the flood of afternoon sun, it seems flocks
of gray clouds are coming down from the hills of
Norway, and you are mounting down fluttering
your scarf in air.
You are flying briskly like a small sparrow
in a cotton plant garden.
