I want your ups and

I want your ups and your downs,
your days and your nights,
your smiles and your frowns.

I want you to scream at me when you're mad
to yell and worry and be afraid
of losing me one day
to the demons.

I want you to hold me when it's cold out,
whispering sweet nothings in my ear
as the wind blows and the crickets chirp
and the stars fall from heaven to the earth.

I want your hand to hold
at his funeral
when they find his body on the side of the road.

I want you to come home late
drunk off your ass
but knowing I'm waiting for you.

I want you to tell me all the stories
you were too afraid to share
with your brother
with your mother
with her.

I want you to tell me I'm gorgeous
when I wake up at two in the morning
screaming at the monsters in the dark.

I want your arms to be in when it's cold
your hand to hold in the darkness
your chest to lie on when it's late.

I want you to realize
your worth
your days
your ways.

your flaws.
