I Was

I was going to be a vet for as long as i can remember,

I was decided, convinced, wanted to be a member.

Animals were my thing,

And the money was nice.

There really was no reason to ever think twice.

Then one day i did some reasearch,

And found some things out.

Veterinarians did the surgery,

Which put me in doubt.

I wanted to be with the animals,

 Longer than a surgery.

I wanted to bond with them until they felt like we had an anniversary.

So i researched some more,

and figured something new.

Something called a veterinarian technician,

That does what i want to do.

They care for the animals,

Sleep with them too.

I couldn't think of anything better to do.

So i made a switch, a change, the wind blew.

My dream job for the past sixteen years,

Suddently became something new.

It no longer was about the money,

But about what I wanted to do.

I was gonna be  vet,

But I became something new.
