As I Was

She looks at me and I can see her pain, it's as clear and subtle as the wrinkles on her face.

Her shadow hangs, I try to remember a time before this, she is too weak to carry it.

I feel as though I am lost in a maze of glass, the allusion of change.

She was beautiful once.

There we are, two ghost in a river with no way to speak against the setting sun.

The light fades leaving only grey and I am colorless.

She is beautiful.
