I was content with how

I was content with how my life had been geared,

then you, out of nowhere, just appeared.

Your coy tone and smiling eyes made me feel safe inside,

seemingly innocent you were, until I realized why I put my pride aside.

I never thought words could cut so deep,

until I was crying over my bruises as I fell asleep.

Telling no one what was going on inside my head,

until I almost ended up dead.

Him, I no longer feared,

all of my problems began to disappear.

The weak and fragile me has died,

now the strong and confident me has arrived.

No longer will I feel like I have been beat,

I will feel strong, whole, and complete.

My newly founded positivity will be far and widely spread,

an exciting new life I can now live is right ahead.
