I Was the Problem, You Were the Answer
The ocean waves came over me,
And I cursed the name of God.
For He has left me here,
Why has He left me forsaken?
That wasn't a drowning,
That was a baptism.
I wasn't being punished,
I was being saved.
Now I finally see,
I am awake.
The fire tore apart my soul,
And I wasted time blaming You.
You gave me what I deserved,
So where do I go from here?
Well coal turns into diamond,
Through the pressure and the fire.
So now I rise from the ashes brand new,
Anyone in Christ is a new creation.
I thank You,
For the answer.
I was the one who turned my back when things got rough,
I worried too much about trying to be good enough.
I need to learn to fix my eyes upon the unseen,
I was a dead man but you made my soul clean.
I was always the problem,
Thank You for the answer.
