I Was You

I have seen the pain you talk about.

I have seen the blood reappear

I have seen the hope disappear.

I have heard the screams that take your life.

I have heard the power of your pain

I have heard the thunder in the rain.

I have kissed the sadness in your eyes.

I have kissed your scars

I have kissed the stars.

I have loved you even in the dark.

I have loved the words you speak

I have loved the faith you seek.

I have been there once before.

So let me hold your hand.

I will lead the way.
