I was...am now

I was addicted to you -- conflicted by you and ended up being restricted from you. As I tried to recover from you I still wished to smother -- hover -- cover you... To have my perfect lover in you. Dreams I had of being part of you, having everyday start with you and living stark-raving happy with you. Rejection has never been a stranger and I know dejection like the back of my hand. When it seemed that life only knew how to give you shit; when I didn't look at you then just spit (beat) on your dreams I tried to provide you with the emotional means for you to climb up this ladder of life without everyone around you only making strife -- then everyday I pray just to see you come my way if only for just a few minutes to stay Then I asked, "I'll love you.. if I may?" Now you've found that place in life -- the space where drive and ambition have replaced what used to only be wary suspicion. Now your head is clear to process your brain's powerful cognition. You set a goal to climb out of an ice-filled hole -- but along the way you stole my soul. Now, I need you to help me lift this cloud of pain -- shelter me briefly from my own destructive rain. Help me drive this Hell bound train before I become just another faded stain. The funny thing about pain... It demands to be felt.
