I watch, they play

I watch, they play

their minds sweetened by the sun and warmer still

are their smiles that break but solidfy

into the fluid form of laughter .

I know, they say

that the past is the past and so never will

be what it is today, but this if I may, I defy

to deny raw youth's intention after

the days go by.
