I Wear The Mask
I wear the mask that doesn’t only cover my face
It also covers my arms and it covers legs
Between him and I no one will ever know,
In public we are fine, but it is only a show.
Oh, “if only they knew” is always a thought
I never saw it coming, but I fell so hard
Watching fireworks together from the front yard.
I fell even harder when you pushed me down;
I wear the mask
I used to blame myself for ticking you off,
But eventually everything got you, like the slightest cough
You hurt me so bad, bruises everywhere
Wearing shorts, even short sleeves; I wouldn’t dare
I wear the mask.
