I went to war with the Devil

I’ve made a deal with the devil
I know that I have sinned
I've made a deal with the devil
Traded in my innocence
I’ve made a deal with the devil
And now I must pay the cost
I’ve made a deal with the devil
I hope to God my soul’s not lost

I slept a night with the devil
Strange how warm the bed
I slept a night with the devil
I’ll remember till the day I’m dead
I slept a night with the devil
How sweet his kiss
I slept a night with the devil
I wonder if I’m missed

I went to war with the devil
And for a while I seemed to win
I went to war with the devil
But he found his way under my skin
I went to war with the devil
Silent bloody battles roared
I went to war with the devil
And lost when I forgot my Lord

I went toe to toe with the devil
My God hear my plea
I went toe to toe with my devil
And he’s still inside of me
