I Will be Me

The touch of desperateness strikes me

The sensation of wanting to be free

The chains holding me back for so long

The negative noise was always wrong

I want to run, laugh, and love

I want to fly high like a white dove

Seas of tears roll down my cheek

Tears of joy a seize to seek

My dream is a faithful one

To shine brighter than the sun

The truth lies heavy on my back

But I’ve found the confidence I lack

I will be a star in the sky

I will be able to fly

I will be who I want to be

I know it’s all up to me
