I Will Bear The Burden

I will have to go farther than any of my kin who have come before me.

To do my best to change the world to benefit my people.

The sun and the moon have been my constant companions, my private

counselors.

The paths I have taken. The places I've seen, the people I've met.

Suffering and sorrow abound and unstoppable. A constant they say.

So many problems. So much darkness. The land runs red with blood.

My blood.

The pains that haunts me paint my face.

My heart aches alone at night, silent tears wash off the mask of gladness .

A face carved by mother earth cracked by the monumental sins of man.

I am privy to the twilight of man.

I have gazed into the beast that is hate. Felt it's irrational fury echo across time.

The wretchedness of wanton destruction and death. The darkness in the hearts of

man.

Hope, is the spring that keeps my spirit up.

Making the pressure of the world on my shoulders, a feather.

Responisbilty a dainty thing held in steady hands. A sureness of step.

The watchful eyes of the greatful dead hold a silent vigil of my journey into the

unknown.

The face I wear, a promise of private confessional.

The secrets of friends and family hidden from the world.

A dash of hope for any who come to my door.
