For I will consider my family

For my siblings are the greatest gift my parents have given me

For the love my parents show is a love I want to emulate 

For they support each other through everything

For my family was all that was there for me through tough times

For when we moved from Florida to Michigan they held me together

For we traded our shorts for scarves

For each of us is as unique as a snowflake

For each of us fits together like the puzzles we do

For although we are different, we are more similar

For Ellie’s green eyes, always questioning what is around her

For Victoria’s laugh, that fills a room

For George’s jokes take everyone by surprise

For my mother’s courage to stay home and raise us

For my father who “puts the bad guys in jail”

For me, the eldest, always looking out for my siblings

For the times we disagree

For when my mom gets up from the dinner table, frustrated with our quarreling

For when my father shouts through the house, only to apologize minutes later

For the times we agree

For popcorn parties and pajama parties

For hysterical laughter that fills the car on road trips

For the ridiculousness that is what we call family 

For my best friends
