i will never know

i have always envied the birds able to cast away their doubts, leaping into grace their tact beauty, inspiring all beings i have always envied the birds tracing invisible paths through generations the ghosts leading the way, etching the history into the flock i have always envied the birds for the understanding look in their eye the silent acknowledgement of the prisoners- shackled to earth i have always envied the birds they have relished true life, their liberation- their movement, transfixes i have always envied the birds for i will never know
