I Will Never Lose

As a child I was careless

Laughing, cheerful, and free.

I was pure and untouched by the devils wicked deeds.

But soon I grew older

People started to get mean.

My eyes became swallowed by the tears of others dreams.

Everyday I woke up startled

Wondering why the feeling hadn't passed.

People walked around my presence as if I was shattered glass.

Broken, hormonal, lonely and confused

I kept all these feelings to my self because thats what I thought big girls do.

The days turned into weeks

And the weeks turned into years.

As I kept inside my hole of yesterdays and days to come fears.

I lost my connections with the people I loved most

I though I was infected by lucifers ghost.

I thought I was ungrateful for the life that he had gave.

I didn't wear a seat belt in hopes that today would be the day.

While the world around me continued to eat me alive

It shaped me into the person I could not despise.

It made me loving and understanding

Beyond my deepest comprehension.

And forgiving and confident with all those I had interaction.

I learned not to judge or say words too quickly.

You never know if the words that you're speaking

Will be the last of the girl who’s grave they are digging.

Although there are points were I’m surprise that I'm alive

I wouldn’t trade it for a moment

If it means keeping others alive.

So I may be bruised and battered

However I’m no longer broke and confused.

Depression didn’t kill me

I will never lose.
