I Will Rise

Dear Society,

You can pull me down

You can push me around

You can drag me

or make me drown

You can dig a hole

to shove me in

Watch me fall

while playing violin

I'd say everything's okay

That it will be alright

While getting stuck

and freezing in the headlight

But it's not okay

It's not alright

I will not fade silently

Into the night

This girl you hate

This girl you despise

She shall overcome

She shall rise
