I Will Write, I will Create, I will Inspire
Pen and paper in hand the educator requested for me to create written art
At 12 I wrote of a love I knew nothing of
My eyes were opened to an avenue of expression
An expression that frees depression and allows impression
It records memories to become written and remembered
How many of us remain illiterate
How many of us are without tools to illustrate our passions and thoughts
Over 796,000,000 remain voiceless on paper
67,000,000 children are not able to attend primary school
I will write more than 796,000,000 words and with these words
I will create rhymes and patterns
I will inspire thoughts and dreams
For those without the opportunity or ability to express
For the 12 year old I once was that felt free to write about something she knew nothing of
I will write
I will create
I will inspire
