I wish...


I wish you could see the little girl inside me-

the on I never got to be.

The one that laughed and danced

and sang in the summer heat.

 

I wish you could see the big girl i was at 13-

the one who stayed strong for her family.

The one who stands by and watches people leave her

Seldom shedding a tear of asking God "why?"

 

I wish you could see the young lady I am-

the one who is so strong yet so fragile.

The one who loves and cares and keeps so much in her heart

And yet, here I am still standing.

 

One day...perhaps you'll see the woman I've become-

the one who smiles with her pride and dignity. 

The woman who has loved and lost-

but will never forget what each one means to me...
