I Wish

I wish my heart could take this,

That I could simply say goodbye with one last kiss;

But I’m far too weak.

And that cup you kept my heart in?

It’s starting to leak.

I wish that I could say I’m okay,

That I could move easily through the day;

But I’m hurt inside.

And that shell you broke away?

It’s the only place I could hide.
