I Wish...

I wish I looked like the magazines.

But I don't..

I wish I could eat what I want and not worry about gaining a pound.

But I can't...

I wish my skin was clear.

But it's not.

Sometimes, I wish the kink of my hair would straighten to perfect locks, or curl

like those girls at my school.

I know I'm beautiful, and powerful, and smart.

You don't need to tell me twice.

But sometimes I wonder what it would be like

to be the perfect human.

But what defines that?

The beauty within and the acceptance of oneself

not by others but by themselves.

Because if you don't love yourself,

how could you expect anyone else to?
