I wish to be free

Like the birds and bees

Who fly and land wherever

They please.

I wish to be free

Like the tree

Who will always stand tall and sturdy

And upright beside me.

I wish to be free

Like the sky

Who's open and wide

And will never die.

I wish to be free

Like the stars

Who are never close

And always far.

I wish to be free

Like the sun

Who shines brightly 

For everyone.

I wish to be free

Like the fish

Who swims and dives

Wherever he may wish.

I wish to be free

Like the people I see

Who gather and laugh

All around me.

But most of all...

I wisb to be free

Like the ocean

Who's calm and fierce

And always in motion.

Though these wishes

Are my own

I know that I am

Not alone

For these people wish

For these things

All the time

I hope someday

That these wishes

Will become mine.
