I Wish I Could Float With The Clouds

I stare at the silent, blue sky, and the clouds

hovering above me, listening to the excruciating

pain in my slurred speech, shattered, shifting eyes,

suffocating beats, long dead.  I wish I could float

amongst the soft, puffy clouds, letting go of the past,

and the empty spaces all around me, embracing

my new unexplored territory.  I want to feel the sweet

escape spark my soul, and the glistening sun beat

upon me as I hang in the distance, breathing in the vivid

view in sight, awaiting the endless stars at night, sinking

into their dimension of scintillating galaxies, whispering

enchanted melodies in the nighttime glow.

My name is Travis Green and I was born and raised in Middlesex, North Carolina. I grew up with my mom, Sandra Mitchener, and raised as a single child. My dad, Robert Lee Green, died in a car wreck when I was a baby. I graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in English in 2012. I'm also a visual artist who loves to draw pretty much anything in the world. I've been drawing for nearly 14 years. I recently published my poetry book, Life and Dreams in Poetic Words, and my autobiography, The Makings of Life and Dreams. My focus is to keep moving forward and chase after my dreams.
