I Wish I Was A Flower
I wish I was a flower
so I would not have to be
I wish I was a flower
So I wouldn't have to see.
I wish I was a flower so I could live in the mud.
I wish I was a flower so I could live beneath the flood.
And as a flower grows
A flower loses toes
And ribbons tied to bows
forget the weeping willows
in the rain
in the clouds
in the sun beneath the sound
of the falling sky which breathes
as the crowing moonstone fades
I wish I was a flower
So I did not have to feel
I wish I was a flower
I wish I wasn't real
I wish I was a flower
So I could feel no pain
So when a boot came crashing down
to crush my pitied petals vain
I could not bother caring
For the outcome lies the same.
Flowers do not fall in love
Flowers do not preach a dove
flowers never rest above
the far below which never really goes to show how free thoughts flow in time and rhyme and lullaby to soothe the aching screaming mind of those who are not willful enough to lose their
stride.
I wish I was a flower
So I did not have to try.
