I wish it were us again.

Inseparable is what people have called us.

For the longest time, through the exhilaration and depression, it was us against the world.

We planned a life that incorporated you and me.

We had the same dream car.

You didn’t have your life planned out, but I had mine;

Then as a team, we’d move to Florida, go to college, and have a shared apartment.

But one day, everything stopped.

The world paused orbit, on its axis fallen sideways.

Your words stopped flowing to me. To glide into my ears, and I’d listen all day.

I drifted into a hollow pit when we sailed from best friends to strangers.

I’d already been carved, but losing someone, I considered a sister was tough.

My world had finally been shut off. The guarded floodgates were put back up.

Even after two years;

I wish it were us again.
