I Wish For You And Me

It is cold and for once I find myself not in favor of the feeling at all Goosebumps and chills fall upon me There is a never ending need to be in your arms Yet all that can be felt is greed Don’t take this wrong the cold is nice The heart just yearns for a brisker set of mind For when the air is less taut and the weather is more kind The heart yearns for more months like October So colorful and bright When fears never took over When we would never think to fight About the smaller things that filled us with all their might It is cold now in this January weather The heart can not bear it now, do not let this last forever My heart wishes for when we were screaming as we ran down the hall You chasing me and then we would fall Onto the couch laughing gaily Only you, and only me Sitting open mouthed as we took a wide turn Onto a street we had never been down before The heart wishes for days when you were laughing As your brother sat in the floor holding his sides The room being filled with laughter and light Giggles escape your mouth as tears fall down your face Now the mind wishes to be clear For it knows that life is no longer a race Clear as the night sky as you walk away, never coming nearer Hoping Aphrodite won’t take you away from me To leave my heart alone As she did with the virgin three For they could not be entranced by love for they knew not what it was The heartbreak I feel encases my ribcage, allowing myself to never exhale Holding my breath as you quickly fade away As the darkness comes closer the memories begin to play The darkness shall take me, now alone and forever afraid When it was just you and me
