I wish you were there
From the day we are born our mothers our the people we cherish
A relationship is made that we never want to perish.
But we grow up and we learn.
As a baby girl I never knew right from wrong
My mother was strong.
I wanted to be just like her.
But somewhere along the line something went missing.
I was growing up and she wasnt there.
How to shave, how to brush my hair, how to wash my hair. All of it. She wasn't there.
I watched all little girls do things with their mom. Have a house with their mom.
Its all I wanted.
But she stood still in time.
Eventually I moved on from nursery rhymes and needed to learn how to be a girl.
She wasn't there.
I had to do it alone.
But the job is done and now all I have to say is...I wish you was there.
