I Wonder

Dear Kelly, I wonder what its like to heal
Not just the physical, but what one feels.
To mend a soul broken by strife
And bring it hope and give it life

Dear Friend, I wonder what its like to teach
A hungry mind that’s like a leech.
That yearns for knowledge more and more
And devours lessons like a carnivore.

Dear Confidant, I wonder what its like to live
To never regret a thing you did
Each moment greater than the last
But always cherishing those in the past

I have so many things planned
Before my conference with the Big Man.
Lessons and stories to tell to all
Lessons and stories to be told by all.

There will come a day I can no longer wonder
I will lie beneath, only six feet under
Oh God, I hope that by that day
I will have found my own true way

The concept of being gone one day
 Is not a scary thought.
As long as it was not wasted,
my one and only shot.

But when I’m finally dead and gone,
My memory… Will it still go on?

Love always,
Kelly
