I Wonder What Tomorrow Brings

I wonder what tomorrow brings,

Shall my heart sorrow, shall it sing?

Perhaps I will share joy with friends,

Or with my enemies contend,

All glory might be mine next day,

Alas if all be swept away.

The sun may shine in dazzling white,

Or rain might fall with no respite,

Shall cold winds howl around my home?

What if instead no breeze doth roam?

Lightning may crack across the sky,

Snowflakes soft might flurry and fly.

I hope true peace my soul will own,

Yet it may soon bewail and moan,

Will my true love give me his heart?

Or will he shatter mine apart?

My life path might be clear to see,

But death could come to capture me.
